Sister Cities International Partners with 2U, Inc. to Offer Scholarships for Online Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and International Relations

Washington, D.C. (September 25, 2014) – Sister Cities International today announced a new partnership with 2U, Inc. (NASDAQ: TWOU), a leading provider of cloud-based software-as-a-service solutions for nonprofit colleges and universities to deliver high-quality education to qualified students anywhere, to offer scholarships for selected 2U-enabled online master’s degree programs in public administration and international relations.

Sister Cities International members and members of its affiliated international partners will be eligible for scholarships when they enroll in either of two 2U-enabled master’s degree programs: MPA@UNC, the online Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina School of Government, or International Relations Online, the online Master of Arts in International Relations from American University’s School of International Service.

Through the partnership with 2U, qualified applicants will receive a $5,000 scholarship if they are accepted and matriculate in the selected top-tier 2U-enabled master’s degree programs:

  • MPA@UNC, the online Master of Public Administration (MPA) offered by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Government, prepares students to advance or begin a career in public service, including government service, community management and the nonprofit sector.  
  • International Relations Online, the online Master of Arts (MA) in International Relations offered by American University’s School of International Service, is a top-10-ranked school of international affairs by Foreign Policy. The program prepares students to succeed in this interdisciplinary professional field by providing a foundation in advanced international relations topics.

As with all 2U-enabled programs, MPA@UNC and International Relations Online feature live online classes, immersive self-paced course content, real-world learning experiences and a range of student support services. Students also are able to grow their personal and professional networks by working with university faculty and students across the country and around the world.
