Alexis Thompson – Director of Development and Community Relations for The Salvation Army of Greater Houston

Alexis Thompson is the Director of Development and Community Relations for The Salvation Army of Greater Houston where she leads a team that executes all communications, fundraising and volunteer strategies to encourage gifts of time, talent and treasure so that no person in Houston is without hope and opportunity. During her tenure, The Salvation Army was one of 24 organizations nationwide awarded an inaugural $5 million grant from the Day 1 Families Foundation and was recognized as an organization doing needle moving work in the fight to end homelessness for families in our country.

The Salvation Army World Service is dedicated to improving the health, economic, and spiritual conditions of the poor throughout the world where The Salvation Army is active. Since 1977, The Salvation Army has helped people in 130+ countries help themselves through sustainable programs that improve living conditions, combat the spread of disease and promote personal development. Alexis is tremendously proud of the work of The Salvation Army which gives people the opportunity to transform their own lives for good.

Alexis is also a dedicated volunteer and advocate for the YMCA and Spring Branch ISD. She begrudgingly serves as a Director of her neighborhood’s HOA board.
